Visitor Tips
- Book at least a week in advance—prime times sell out rapidly.
- If you book around 5:00 PM, you can stay to watch the sunset.
- Visibility is often clearest in the early morning before the haze sets in.
- The entrance is inside the Dubai Mall; give yourself at least 15 mins to walk from the metro station.
Is Burj Khalifa Worth It?
For most visitors, the Burj Khalifa is an unmissable experience and absolutely worth the price. At AED 149 for the standard Level 124/125 ticket, it delivers one of the world's most extraordinary viewpoints — a genuine once-in-a-lifetime perspective from the tallest structure ever built. Families, couples, and photography enthusiasts all find tremendous value here.
If you're weighing up other viewpoints, Sky Views Observatory offers a more intimate Downtown experience with the added thrill of the glass slide and Edge Walk. For a more affordable alternative with an equally compelling story, the Dubai Frame provides dual perspectives of old and new Dubai at just AED 50. But for sheer scale and prestige, no attraction in Dubai rivals the Burj Khalifa.
What to Expect at Burj Khalifa
Your journey begins at the dedicated At the Top entrance on the Lower Ground floor of Dubai Mall. After ticket verification, you'll queue for the double-deck elevators — the world's fastest at 10 metres per second — which whisk you to Level 124 in under a minute. The ascent itself is an experience, with an immersive multimedia display tracking the tower's construction story.
Level 124 and 125 offer a full 360-degree panorama with telescopes and interactive information panels identifying landmarks across the city. On clear days, visibility extends over 95 kilometres. Level 148 (At the Top SKY) adds an outdoor terrace at 555 metres and a private lounge with complimentary refreshments — significantly less crowded than the floors below.
Timing your visit around the Dubai Fountain show is highly recommended: performances run every 30 minutes from 6:00 PM, and from 148 floors up, the aerial view of the choreographed water jets is extraordinary. Crowds peak at sunset, so arriving at opening (8:00 AM) rewards you with crisp, haze-free visibility and minimal queues.
Getting to Burj Khalifa
The easiest and most affordable route is via the Dubai Metro Red Line to Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station. From the station, an air-conditioned walkway connects directly into Dubai Mall — follow signs to At the Top on the Lower Ground (LG) level, roughly a 10–15 minute walk through the mall. Taxis and ride-hailing services (Careem, Uber) drop off at the Dubai Mall main entrance. Paid parking is available at Dubai Mall but can be congested on weekends.
