Dubai Aquarium

The centrepiece experience is the 48-metre tunnel walk where sand tiger sharks, enormous stingrays, and thousands of tropical fish glide just centimetres above your head. Upstairs, the Underwater Zoo adds another dimension with otters, penguins, a rainforest zone, and a living ocean habitat showcasing 150+ species.

Is Dubai Aquarium Worth It?
Starting at just AED 70, the Dubai Aquarium tunnel walk is one of the best-value premium attractions in the city. A 10-million-litre tank housing over 400 sharks and rays — viewed through one of the world's largest acrylic panels — is a genuinely extraordinary sight, and the 48-metre tunnel puts you directly beneath it in a way that photographs simply cannot convey. For families, couples, and first-time visitors alike, it delivers a memorable wow moment at a price point significantly below most of Dubai's headline attractions.
The real value comes from pairing the aquarium with a full Downtown Dubai day: combine it with Burj Khalifa tickets for a morning at the world's tallest building and an afternoon underwater — two iconic experiences in one walkable location. Upgrading to the Tunnel + Underwater Zoo combo (AED 130) adds two hours of additional content with otters, penguins, and ecological exhibits that hold children's attention particularly well.
What to Expect at Dubai Aquarium
The experience begins before you even buy a ticket: the massive acrylic viewing panel is visible from the Dubai Mall walkway and draws crowds day and night. Once inside, the tunnel walk is the centrepiece — a 48-metre corridor running beneath the main 10-million-litre tank, with 270-degree views of sand tiger sharks, nurse sharks, giant stingrays, and thousands of tropical fish. The sheer scale is jaw-dropping, and the constant movement of animals overhead makes every second of the walk different.
The Underwater Zoo on the upper level is well worth adding. Three ecological zones — Rocky Shore, Rainforest, and Living Ocean — house 150+ species including penguins, otters, piranhas, crocodiles, and giant spider crabs. Otter feeding sessions run at set times and draw delighted crowds. For thrill-seekers, cage snorkelling and scuba dive experiences allow you to enter the main tank — these must be pre-booked and represent a bucket-list moment. Allow 1.5 to 2 hours for the combined visit, or up to 3 hours if you add the in-tank experiences.
Getting to Dubai Aquarium
Dubai Aquarium is located on the ground floor of The Dubai Mall in Downtown Dubai — one of the easiest attractions in the city to reach. Take the Dubai Metro Red Line to Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station, then follow the covered walkway directly into the mall (approximately 10 minutes on foot). Taxis and ride-shares drop off at the mall's main entrance on Financial Centre Road. The aquarium is signposted from all major mall entrances and is situated near the main atrium on the ground floor, facing the famous Dubai Mall waterfall.
